As part of AAPI’s Adult Obesity Awareness Campaign, Dr. Uma Jonnalagadda and her staff participated in a community-wide health fair on Saturday, October 5, 2019. They educated the participants on ways to combat adult obesity, such as taking the stairs, striving for 10,000 steps daily, and various physical activities like Zumba, among others. They also talked about cutting back on carbs and sweets, while incorporating more fruits and vegetables into their diet. Furthermore, Dr. Jonnalagadda encouraged drinking more water instead of sugary drinks. As a treat for attendees, everyone was given an apple to help start them on their way to a healthier lifestyle. Dr. Uma Jonnalagadda is a practicing Family Physician in Douglas, Georgia and currently is the Treasurer of GAPI Executive Committee for 2019-20.
